comments for [DEMO] Idle Trillionaire

sort: go back

this game is only a demo and requires you to pay 3 dollars for the full game, so be warned

developer response: Updated listing to more clearly state that it is a demo

one thing needs to be made clear, the low ratings aren't because people 'hate supporting developers' or dislike the game. although nothing groundbreaking it is pretty fun.
it's just that people go to online game websites such as kongregate and galaxy expecting to be able to play a game for free.
websites like this are for people to just click on a game that looks interesting and play it, no strings attached. this just isn't the correct platform.
if you're going for a paid approach, you're better off on websites such as itch.io where people actually see the price tag beforehand and expect to pay for the games that they play.
the low ratings aren't a product of the game itself being bad, more a product of horrendous marketing, for a lack of better word.

Sorry, but... this game just doesn't feel really... good. You aren't incentivized to ignore negative paths and there's no lock-outs when you select a good or bad thing.
This is also a paid game that you are playing the demo version of. Because this is a demo, this is not really a game, this is just... click buttons and watch numbers go up: The "game."
This is not incrementalism. This is just meaningless.

Never create Pay To Play games and release them. - Stevens good side.

the bad rating makes sense, making this a demo seems to get almost no one to buy the full version. If you want to get paid for games, you gotta make something more interesting, and not just a more basic leaning idle game that doesn't even have a decent offline progress system. Shoulda just put it on itch.io.

I played this when before it became a demo and it is a shame that I cannot complete it now :(

Make a free Idle game: "+ 100 happiness"
Release the idle game as an Demo instead: "- 10 000 happiness"

Interesting concept. A bit repetitive and literally a re-skinned 1:1 clone of your other game.

There is no way to buy the game for the web version. You have to download it via steam or an app. Therefore i edited my savefile to unlock everything.
Prestige speeds up your hours, thats it. New cards dont introduce any new mechanics just bigger numbers.

As much as i like supporting developers given you already released a clone also to be bought, this seems like a no-effort cash grab atempt. And im afraid you will continue copy-pasting this game with different themes all around the playstore.

My advice, polish this game, create a proper UI, and dont rely on emojis as images. Add more features, make the cards have an impact and unlock new things. Make decisions actually play a role.

"unlock the full version" how about no :(

developer response: You do you. No one forcing you.

Why is there any offline progress at all? 1 game hour is half a second. So for each 1 hour I am offline, I get 1 second progress?

I know that everyone talked about this game. I probably will leave aside the talk about the update that turned it into a demo because otherwise this comment is not going to be constructive.
The gameplay is pretty boring, you just press cards and buy them. Speaking of: why do negative cards even exist? I can just ignore them.
I really need an explanation on why you(the player) need to buy them.
Multiple features are behind a paywall so i can't talk about them.
I managed to get negative happiness gain.GUESS WHAT? This can make you get negative happiness. That means you can softlock the game by waiting.
I actually reset my savefile to find this. Also, while finding out if you can softlock the game using negative happiness, i found a time accelerating glitch. And the prestige
started saying:1[object Object][object Object]x time rate. I don't think a lot of people want to buy games with game breaking bugs. Using the glitch i managed to power through the balanced for demo cards.
IN JUST 15 MINUTES. Please, dev, patch these glitches before updating anything else. UPD: After being busy writing this comment i realised that i underrestimated the glitch
This glitch allows you to speed through this whole demo not the balanced part, i'm talking about EVERY SINGLE CARD Even unbalanced ones for a demo
Commenting on the card names and descriptions:why the hell anyone would buy a second s***** organ (if you played the game, you get what it is)(also how it is supposed to earn money for you), you can't formally beat cookie clicker, there is no ending screen. The only true method to beat cookie clicker, in my opinion is to cheat.(this is not a comprehensive list of questionable cards)
This game, if released on a platform that has paid games, wouldn't get ratio'd not even remotely as hard.
I don't really think that Idle Trillionare deserves a rating lower than $idle or BFB clicker (idle trillionare is much better than both of these) despite what i said in my $idle comment.

The game is kinda fun and goofy but the whole demo thing completely destroys the game's charm. I didn't think that it's allowed to post pay-to-play games here and wasn't expecting to find one. And even if you would like to support the dev and not make them, quote, "work for free" (funny you mention this on a website with FREE games) - you'd have to play elsewhere because it has no full web-version. Bruh.

dear future commenters:
there IS a rule against non constructive criticism so please DO NOT pull a “i have to pay for this? this sucks”
from what ive heard 4+ comments have been deleted ON THIS GAME due to being mean to the creator, worst case being a comment for the creator to delete the game “for his own sake”
thank you :D

Cannot and will not support these types of games on this platform. I'm sure the game is fun, but this isn't the place for this. Apologies friend.

I get that it's a demo, but by day 250 of the first year, I've purchased every single card just to see if new paths would unlock and am at a net-positive for every resource. I waited for the rest of the year to see if anything else happens, but it was just a small pop-up for the annual bonus. I tried to play toward a noble character at the beginning, expecting to be punished, but there's no mechanic that makes you interact with bad cards. So is it really easy to simply avoid the bad cards and "win" or did I miss a fundamental part of the gameplay cycle?

i don't like the complete absence of multipliers makes lots of things insanely good compared to others and reduces the advantage of buying everything
and the offline earnings are less than 0.1% aka way too low and you can't even let it run in the background for timewalls
AND the clicker aspect is GARBAGE manual clicking is too slow and autoclicking lags the game
the balance between money and happy is weird cause there is little choice and they don't have enough synergy
also why is there such a silly lose condition it's an idle game and why are there cards that have no positive effect

Alright, disregarding the fact that this is a demo for a paid mobile-only game, the game itself has multiple fundamental flaws. Many of the cards have little to no benefit in comparison for the price, having a payback period of over 10,000 "hours" for some, while others are direct upgrades or even pay back their cost and extra instantly. The gameplay is incredibly basic, you simply click the cards when you can afford them and wait.

Aside from the bland gameplay, there are multiple other things I find strange. There are numerous spelling mistakes, and while I understand that the developers native language may not be English, it gets in the way of a mostly text oriented game. On top of this, multiple of the cards seem at best crude and at worse offensive, like "Sex Change Operation, Cause I'm Rich", "Conduct An Annual Blood Ritual", and probably worst of all "Cash In On Race Privilege." There's really no reason for stuff like this to be in a game that otherwise is mostly childish.

The dev's immature responses to criticism also raises questions as to why they even wanted to put the game on the site in the first place. I don't think the game is impossible to fix, balancing the cards, rewriting the descriptions, and removing the paywall would easily boost both the ratings an play count, but it seems like the dev is not interested in doing so, considering they've already released another paid sequel that is the same game with new cards.

developer response: I'm glad you brought this to my attention, as such cards made in poor taste years ago have been modified.

Game used to be free and amazing then the developer saw the amount of support and traffic it was receiving from the /r/incremental_games community and figured… hmm, I’ll turn it into a demo with the option to pay to unlock the full game.
