comments for Confusion
sort: go backSorry, but this was very confusing
Hmm, reading the guide (all the links are dead, Discord is not documentation!), it seems like my 'freeze-to-death-ness' isn't supposed to be saved, but it is, so I guess I'm stuck waiting on the three-hour cycle again!
I am noting this game uses a lot of memory and cpu, and has some GC hiccups
developer response: That is curious indeed ๐
I will take a look at Confusion in the next week to try and iron out the most glaring kinks. It's been a long time since I made this game.
Hope you're not freezing anymore :>
I don't know why but I keep getting lag spikes, it's exceptionally annoying when trying to deal with a certain white black and pink section. Any idea what could be the cause?
developer response: Are you on Firefox by any chance? Construct 3 seems to not do so well there, sadly.
It took me a while to really get into it and to understand what this game is about, but after that phase it became very enjoyable.
To put it shortly; It's a set of minigames within a meta puzzle-game. Some parts are straight-forward and others aren't that obvious.
developer response: Thank you! I'm happy to hear that you pushed through the initial confusion :)
Game writes ~30Mb/s on the disk constantly after the intro is done.
developer response: It might have something to do with the video files. I'll see what I can do about that :)
the hitbox for the discord link is bigger than its graphic. that's such a cardinal nono in a game that i can't even begin to express my distaste at seeing it. please fix that.
developer response: I'll put it on the list :)
OH GOD THE PIXELGRAB INTRO MY FRAME RATE AHHHHHHHHHHh
developer response: The true challenge ๐
Don't like the 3 hour cycling. Why not have the game loop between the sub-games in a cyclic order? For an active incremental that demands attention to solve puzzles, I don't understand the decision to force waiting for hours into the gameplay loop. If you miss the sub-game too you're forced to wait another 9 hours? just to get another shot.
developer response: There is indeed a reason for that :P
The beginning of the game is rather... well, confusing, but if you can get past that, it's totally worth it.
This game reminds me of Frog Fractions, in a way.
developer response: It has a rough start, I see that for sure. Thank you for giving it a chance and pushing through! :)
For anyone not understanding what the hell is going on and thus giving it a 1 rating:
a) The game is a series of several games, interlinked by secrets and interactions, they change every ~3 hours real time and you refresh the page to get the next one.
b) If you get a black cross looking one, it's not a game. It's just a random weird thing, refresh and you should get an actual game.
so, uhm... I reloaded the game, just like 5h later, and it isn't the same game at all ???
Feel like this game is glitchy as hell, but it's possibly my browser. Just a number of times where buttons feel like they heck up.
developer response: I will admit that I made Confusion when I had much less experience than I have now. So yeah, the name is titular for what you can play and for how it was made ๐๐ป
I feel like after the button with the active/passive bonuses, I am missing text/images on every other screen. I played the train, but saw no train, and baloons would start to disappear, leaving only text. I had a screen with 5 or 6 blue boxes on one screen, a button to change screens to another 5 or 6 blank boxes, and a bar going down. The lockpick section just... span forever. I'm not sure if this is actually part of the game and intentionally confusing or not.
developer response: Something is going on with the text in Confusion. I'll be taking a closer look and that, in the hopes of fixing it.
I mean, even with the text visible, the game is... confusing enough as is ๐
I finished the game? or is it another fake..?
I thought the game didn't have much, until I prestiged and found the concept quite nice. I'm out of time for now, but each of the 4 first prestiges changes how you play the game in a significant enough manner
i love the intro to this but then it just GREY (not saying its bad or anything just found it funny)
developer response: <3
The game lags a TON. Like once every 10 seconds. This makes the platformer game basically impossible.
Also the map really just needs to be unlocked by default, needing to wait for a specific 3 hour window to be able to play the game is really stupid.
developer response: If you are on Firefox for example, using Chrome removes the lag. That is sadly something beyond my control. I myself would rather not have to rely on Chrome, but it is what it is.
WHY DIDN'T ANYONE TELL ME I COULD BREAK THE BACKGROUND BOXES D:

I don't normally leave comments on games when they get verified, but I will say the decision to let this game on the site was very deliberate. It's weird in so many ways, and, if it feels like you're missing something, maybe you are?

developer response: Nooo all my secrets ๐ญ
Just kidding, this is an amazing guide for Confusion. Big thanks to Dorak0, without the guide the game would've been entirely overlooked I fear. Use it wisely.
And thank you for allowing Confusion onto galaxy :)
