comments for A Dungeon Is You
sort: go backdeveloper response: thank you. yeah balancing is constant progress...
I like this idea of literally being the dungeon, defending off as much as possible. Yeah, it does have some lacks, like the game being unintuitive and all, but I really like the game concept regardless.
I wish you luck on future updates!!
developer response: thank you, ill keep working on it!
developer response: will add that, thank you!
developer response: yeah, I've been getting a lot of that feedback. Good news though, there is a tutorial now :) You really dont have to wait for 100 mana, or more accurately, there is stuff you should do immediately. Tutorial explains it now. Thanks for your feedback
developer response: I get that for sure. I've added a tutorial to get you started but, as others said. adding more tooltip and other explanations and general polish are coming!
developer response: Thank you for your feedback. I added a tutorial that guides you to the core and increased the arrow buttons.
developer response: That's definitely a bug, I tried fixing it already but yeah, it can still happen when the initial target dies... skelly SHOULD look for a new target but you know how it is ^^' (I did think I fixed it but apparently not... will take another look at it asap)
The game's core mechanic is really good, it's enjoyable and fun to go up in numbers slowly and steady.
First, additions of more raider types, summon types will be amazing.
Second, ability to fully control the dungeon will be nice, as in you as the player is given the power to fully customize turns, tiles, looks, special effect tiles like freezing tiles or burning tiles,... will be a much much nicer addons.
Third, adding more contents like weapons, items dropped from raiders/bosses that can be given to your summons to increase their power in different aspects will be nice.
Finally for now, I believe this game has a lot of potentials, can't wait for it's release on Steam. Goodluck to whoever is behind this piece of art.
developer response: Thank you so much. Although "devs" is hilarious, it's just me by my lonesome. I have wonderful news for you. I already implemented the "fully control the dungeon"! It's not playable but I did it, you can now place every tile by hand (buying new tiles). Which also means I'm gonna add trap tiles yes. Items that improve your mobs (and other stats) is also in development already. Of course more raider and summon types are coming as well.
Errors im facing:
The website at https://saadies.com/ADIY/index.html may be down at the moment or may have been permanently moved to a new web address.
The server's identity as saadies.com could not be verified because its security certificate expired in the last 24 hours. It could be because the server is misconfigured or the connection has been hijacked. The clock on the computer is currently set to Tuesday, April 21, 2026. Is it correct? Otherwise, you should reset the computer clock and then refresh the page.
developer response: Thanks for letting me know, the SSL Cert expired and didn't auto renew (even though it should...) its fixed now!
developer response: Thank you! There will be soooo much more content on release in 6 months :) More different waves, more mobs, more cool systems like inventory management and expeditions to overcome walls. Yesterday I was thinking of having the player be able to build the dungeon completely, as in, you buy every single tile and make your own maze.

I edited the link. direct embed is still not working afaik but if you click on "open original" it loads again.
I'll see about moving the game to my own homeage so it works directly here soonish.
EDIT: I moved it to my own homepage, so you can play directly here on galaxy! Now to check if I have any traffic restrictions on my hoster (lol)

- I think we really need some tooltips to know things like what knowledge is used for or why are we collecting mass (I didn't find any option to use it)
- Right now, the way it is set up, I don't see any advantage in pushing the raiders to the limit as it doesn't seem to affect my upgrades at all; I am assuming it will become relevant in future updates.
- I think there is a bug that even if my summons die, nothing happens, they keep fighting and holding the raiders back.
- I like the idea of having to study your opponents to learn how to summon them but at the same time, its a little uncanny that all the raiders are melee while we make a skelly from there who is a range dealer. I don't know, I just found it curious.
Overall, I like the concept and I am looking forward to further stages :)
developer response: Thanks for the feedback. More information/tooltip will definitely come.
Higher level raiders give way more money, each level doubles the reward. That being said, pushing to the highest isnt always the correct choice. Summons respawn after a time, if they didnt die at all.... should be fixed by now. I've done quite a lot of work in the last few weeks. About the skeleton being ranged... yeah I guess :D
