comments for Bones
sort: go backI had fun with it.
- Gameplay is pretty slow. Click on the appearing hand, update stuff and look for bugs and bats for some extra
- Aesthetics is beautiful, very nice art style
- Game gets much better with more options, but then it is almost over
- The skull giving nonsense commentary and aphorisms is fun.

insert bad to the bone riff here
Game takes forever to load. Might want to look into that.
developer response: Thanks for pointing it out - I've added a loading screen and am looking into reducing load time further
I noped out the second I upgraded my click power, and my reward was to play the game less. That feels bad when upgrading your active interaction. I don't care that it's technically more bones per minute. I care that this game can't decide if it wants to be active or passive and walks the middle line by giving you the worst of both.
Takes about an hour to beat, probably slightly faster if you know the most efficient path and catch every single bug.
If you break a bone hard enough there is a chance you have 1 bone more that normally and in some cases even more.
Nice little game. A bit weird at first, but after a few minutes it's ok. Had fun for 1.5 hours.
No autosave? :/ all progress lost..
It's ultimately a good game after getting past the unbelievably slow introduction. I don't think it suffers from the lack of tutorial since it's all pretty obvious and stuff to upgrade gets trickled in. The beginning clicking stuff might be a little too slow though, especially after waiting for the introduction to finish.
developer response: The intro can be skipped by holding left-mouse button for a couple of seconds!
Thanks for feedback pinball, glad you liked part of it!
I really like the look. The creative descriptions for upgrades is nice but it's really unclear what, if anything, the Jade bracelet does.
developer response: Really glad you like it! The Jade bracelet grants +1 Skull income.
But yeah description is poor sorry, others have commented on that as well.
this is painfully long for clicker(ish)..
The beginning of the game is painfully slow. From unskippable text that lingers far too long to load times that are atrocious when it doesn't even feel like anything loaded. I think my clicking is doing d so.ething, but there's no feedback confirming that it is. I can't even tell if I'm really playing the game or if I'm just sitting through an autoscroller.
Can you make it so it saves?
Game loads now :) just finished it, I think the bones (haha) of a decent incremetal are here, but too many things feel sub par for me to like it. Some of the art individually is nice, but none of the art really matches the rest. Particularly seeing everything together at the end just felt like it was a real mismatch. I felt like some of the upgrades didn't have good explanations as to what they did. It took me quite a while to figure out what was going on with the gambling boons, and I still don't really understand what upgrading that green bracelet thing or awakening the gem does. I like that it's decently short with a handful of things to discover so that you can do some replays, but for how short it is the progression can feel really slow at times.
I can't assemble the staff of power. I can't find green crystal to upgrade it
developer response: Look on the left side underneath the scoreboard and you'll find it.
need save to even be worth playing and won't load
Great game for being a Gen-Ai game.
I think.. the UI is just terrible. And that makes this unplayable. Everything about it feels like it's kicking you in the chest and stunning you as you try to figure it out. Making it always unclear if it's just the UI.. or the player doing something wrong that is getting in the way of the feedback you need to quickly determine the workings of the UI.
I had a really bad feeling about it the instant it loaded and there were two vertical strips (left and right) with background skulls art... I realized the whole presentation wasn't crafted... was just kind of randomly thrown together.
On the bright side, it doesn't seem vibe coded, because even Gemini 2 or Opus 3 or GPT 4 would have made a far more beautiful UI.
My advice to you would be to spend some time studying the UI's of great games and trying to understand the ideas and themes they have in common.

"held throne" is ungrammatical.
"torment" is stressed on the first syllable when it's a noun.

developer response: Sorry about that. I’ve tested it on a few systems and it can take around 4–9 seconds to start depending on hardware. If it doesn’t load at all on your end, let me know your setup and I’ll take a closer look.
