How to play stage 3. Click on circle. Click on bar. Click on switch. Repeat for anything that is flashing from that point forward. Maybe it gets more confusing later on but it's not hard but simply unintuitive.

After playing for a while I found some helpful information that speed up gameplay quite a bit. A few tips to remember: if you need to stockpile a resource then turn off machines that use those resources, some machines naturally decay their product so if you don't need them turn them off, some machines scale with input so stockpiling 100x of the input will keep it from draining your resources. I've only had to adjust the flow of materials a few times like when dealing with magma and sand production. Usually you can let them rip at 100% at all times.
