comments for Incremental Fortress 0.5
sort: go backIn regards to that response: do you end up getting a way to reliably get a fair number of flying ships? Because so far they seem locked solidly behind raids which take a significant chunk of time AND are RNG drops.
If that really is the only way the response is kinda... wrong. It's really not fast in the slightest.
developer response: Right, but you also have Gandlor's Cave. And when you are farther into the game, you quickly gain a lot of upgrades and, thus, a lot of coins. Which gives you the opportunity to win Flying Ship, as well as Crescent Moons which can be used to speed up raids.
It is not fast in a sense that when you start the game, you do not currently have a mechanism of immediately just having messengers be faster. But when you have things like raids, Gandlor's and Workshop unlocked, you do have a mechanism to speed that process up fairly significantly. Definitely, you can speed it up in a passive manner, without having to actually wait for messengers to click on them.
Later in the game you also get a sound alert when a messenger arrives.
p.s.: and, btw, I am not in principle against providing some upgrade that will not reset them. Just saying that there are ways to speed it up in the current version
I really wish the messenger upgrades didn't reset their "how many messages have been clicked" count after transmigrating, all those upgrades being locked every time and requiring the same amount of effort gets a bit grating.
developer response: True, but once you get items, you'll be able to get Flying Ship, which will trigger a messenger. This will allow to very quickly get that count up.
It wasn't worth playing more than a day to get a single seed with the hard timegating.
Still fully convinced my critique of the fire seed timegating from the bliss page isn't negated simply because you perceive that slow pace to be passable.
the start feels like cookie clicker
louigiverona's sounds are satisfying
Grinding to 10b mana upgrades and a couple quick thoughts.
1.) Lava fertilizer needs to boost volcano breather time by more than 10min. Especially since the cost of each item scales
2.) Mystical workshop is as arcane as actual alchemy. The three tips might as well not exist for how helpful they are and the ingredient tool tips are equally useless. I would bet the discord community has recipes figured out but all the links to the server are dead, or the server is dead. Who knows. At least the Mystical Workshop lets you get rid of items/equipments you don't want.
3.) Gandlors Cave turns an incremental game into a luck game. And just when ANY tool tip could be useful there is none for "Seer". No idea what it does, good or bad, but it is always there doing....something. Gods only know.
4.) Unable to view the possible upgrades unless you want to reset. Why? And no the confirmation screen that tells you if you can afford anything is not a substitute.
5.) If the different places to raid give different items and which ones it would be nice to know, like in the treasury screen maybe? Otherwise I have no idea if every reset I should redo the pyramid or not or if there are items I have not found in a previous area. its a mystery! Ya? Maybe?
6.) I am a tab person and I HATE scrolling so I would prefer things, like the wall, in a different tab. It is nice every now and then to see it's ridiculousness but not all the time.
7.) The buttons to go to the Giants and Necropolis should be locked at the top of the screen just under the resource banner.
8.) Reduce the amount of cushion around everything. The game could use half as much screen real estate and still be comfortable to look at and play.
9.) There is no reason Gandalor/Aviary and Wicked Quests can not be side by side. Alternatively make it so they can be minimized or something in lieu of closed/open.
I think that is all my thoughts. Overall I really do like the game even if my suggestions make it seem otherwise.
developer response: Thank you for the feedback.
Quick comments:
1. The Discord server links are not dead and the server works normally. I have no idea why it doesn't work for you and I'm sorry to hear that, but it's there and nothing has been changed in this regard.
2. The Workshop is meant to be something you explore. If you are not interested in that, on our Discord server we have all the data.
3. The Seer is explained in the Guide entry. See Guide -> Gandlor's Cave
you know when its a louigiverona game its gonna be good
Incremental Fortress 1/2
As a personal preference, I found the first stretch of the game too slow; it's a couple days minimum before the game really gets going. But when it does get going, there's a healthy amount of fun ideas and features to play with that are (in my opinion) definitely worth the wait.
developer response: Thank you for playing!
I remember an earlier version of this game. The timegating is unreal, is there any way at all to speed up the fire seed thing?
how does one transmigrate?
Would be cool to see purchased upgrades/transmigrations somewhere. Overall loving the game though
is there a way to either get more volcano breathers or decrees the time needed to get one?
developer response: Yep, many ways, but only after you unlock at least 1 :)
Please give a way to hide the hangover potions in the alchemy section. I usually click the messenger just so I can get extra buffs that come from clicking on enough of them, but I rarely actually want to use the hangover potions themselves considering how expensive they are, so they end up just stacking in my alchemist section untouched. Not a huge deal, but it would be nice.
like the comments of guards in start of game( i remember last week i saw some stones in the road. was more than this)
@XiaoBaiMalz You need at least 2 mana to transmigrate. But the guide recommends at least 4 or ideally 22 for the first transmigration. Check the guide out in the bottom left corner
Anybody have a list of recipes for the mystic workshop? I cannot figure out what the heck we're supposed to be doing in there.
developer response: I do plan UI improvements to make it clearer, but for now you can hover over the Mystic Workshop button and it will provide you with some instructions.
Wonder how many guard comments I've missed.
@Felross cheers :3
always a pleasure to play a louigiverona game and the interface looks way better than the earlier version.
