sort: go backdid i miss something because i can't find any such for the rover, been stuck grinding better pilot exp to maybe survive these travels
developer response: It's .
RAHHHHH WE LOVE COMPELLING STORIES WITH SICKASS PLOT TWISTS!!!!!
This game has that rare, incredible sense of what makes suspense work, GOD I didn't expect the story to be so good all the way through. Can't wait to see what comes next, but I'm grateful for what I've got :D
@Sedsed you can use the water recycler inside laurion, you just have to park the rover inside it;
I HATE THE OBELISK!!!!!!!
i'm softlocked because i don't have any food ;-;
Completed chapter 1, this is a great example of an evolving game, each loop you the player gets more information on what to do but also your character growing and getting smarter about which actions are needing done and what can be done together is really cool. I really can't wait to see what it looks like later, I would say if you haven't open a discord, I'm sure you'll get some fun suggestions or ideas.
developer response: Thank you so much! I don't currently have a discord. I've been debating setting one up, haven't quite got there yet. Maybe in time for the next major update...
I'm a sucker for loop stories and especially games. And this one is really good. I'd still say that Immortality Idle and Idle Loops: Squirrel Edition are better, but only because they are bigger. If you stick with it, this will definitely be a contender for the top.
PS: To the user going by the user name "TheDutchman88". You might want to look into bringing more water along on the rover in a form of not just pouches, but also bottles. You also might want to skip visiting the distraction on the way. Besides, more loops just means more experience. Enjoy the journey, grab that bag of marshmallows, and whistle a tune a fellow traveler might pick up with a signalscope. In other words, go play Outer Wilds. It's a good game.
Ok so this was awesome! Please, please continue this, I'd love to know what happens at the modified station.... and also be in a position to explore those "wrong looking" support buildings around the initial station!
This is exactly the sort of incremental/idle game I love. Story driven, contextual "prestige"/restart system, resource management the whole shebang.
10/10
It looks like power tools in the mining area don't drain the power they way the description says? It says "Drains 3 power per second", but the power use is far less. Meanwhile the digging rate is noticeably boosted.
Took 4 loops, but I could have done it in 3 if I hadn't
Just had to do a hard reset because I saved It's really good but an early way to force reset would be nice
man how do you get all the way to the place with the rover i brought as much water as i could and still died
This is an incredible demo/proof of concept. I will probably wait until the final version is released to play more, but it's gonna be a tough wait because this is such a cool and fun concept.
I think it got bugged and I didn't lose access to water and food after leaving so I managed to complete in one loop and have no idea when it loops. Otherwise game is fun and has a loit of potential
it was quite annoying at the coordinate section because i kept dying and had to reset but the game is still great and i love it
I really like that limited resources are lower priority when consuming. I love this type of game! Hope you keep going.
I feel like this is now very different of increlution, at least in terms of how it feels to play. I just love the blue tasks, but it does make the game feel a lot different. The game does lack some sort of automation of tasks though, especially the start. I hope to see more
Something i've been noticing is that sometimes the "timed actions" (for example the water recycler) speed up by multiple times, to the point that i couldn't even keep up with using up the actions and it was already at maxed. this usually happens somewhere around Laurion, with almost all of the actions there.
developer response: Mmm, someone else reported something similar. I had assumed it was something to do with saving/loading while the timers are running causing the timer to be advanced twice per tick, but if it's consistently around Laurion then must be something else...
Also, if you (or anyone else) would like to help out with future testing, I've set up a discord server to help organise everything! https://discord.gg/nMqMxKw6Y5
Crossed the dam in 11 loops, with two early restarts. I really enjoyed this game! It's the only game I found that scratches the same itch that Idle Loops did. I found three oddities/bugs that I haven't seen mentioned yet. 1) The environmental effects of drilling the obelisk stuck around if I stopped drilling but didn't leave the room. In addition, I think that the heat layer kept drawing power even after I left the mining wing. 2) On my first trip to the dam, the rover gained +2 power per second instead of losing it. I didn't install the generator. The next trip, with memorized paths, didn't have this issue. 3) Installing the generator in the rover before leaving the first base prevented the "leave with rover" option from working. Had to restart early there.
Overall, it was a great experience. I am eager to see what else you come up with.
developer response: Glad you're enjoying it!
1) I suspect this is because the mining events stop being visible once that action is stopped, but time freezes as soon as you have no actions in your queue. So unless you progress a different action, you're frozen in the moment before the event is removed. So it is a bug, but only a minor visual one.
2) Whoops. I'll have to double check that!
3) Ohhh, that may explain an issue that lots of people have been having, but I haven't had the chance to track yet. If correct, that'll make that a LOT easier to fix.
Thanks for the reports! (And extra thanks for checking what had already been reported first ;))
Awesome game, really enjoyed playing through and hope to see more. The power generation/consumption seems to be broken at times, though.
Drilling the obelisk doesn't seem to actually consume extra power as the tooltip suggests it should. I was getting the speed boost but without any extra power being consumed.
Also, docking with the rover then exiting seems to cause a permanent power drain on Laurion. I would have expected the extra power drain to cease when I leave the main area with the rover but that didn't seem to be what happened.
Finally, the last stretch when heading to the dam doesn't drain as much energy as it's supposed to. On my last run I even somehow ended up with my power permanently regenerating rather than draining. I finished drilling the obelisk on the same run so maybe it was related.
developer response: Really glad you enjoyed it!
The resource generation/drain in general is a little flakey tbh, and it's harder to tell where exactly the issues are since the tooltips definitely don't show certain sources (such as actions which drain resource while you're working on them). At this point I'll probably leave them until the next major version, when I plan to rewrite the way resources are handled. It's become a lot more complex than I originally planned, and there's still a few more resource-based features I intend to add eventually.
