Yeah this is good as hell.

Specifically the resource management and the streamlining/changing of options to represent the growing knowledge from the timeloop is great. Definite improvement from Increlution and I would love to see the larger game you have planned.

Haven't saved or exported at any point and after this last update, I suddenly have the installed from the very start (and can still load the ). Also, upon arriving at , an event appeared for even though I've not gotten there yet. Something looks like it turned a bunch of flags on that shouldn't be.

developer response: Water recycler and the Dam event appearing early is known issue in 0.2.5, will be fixing next patch (in the next day or two). Thanks for the report.

It looks like power tools in the mining area don't drain the power they way the description says? It says "Drains 3 power per second", but the power use is far less. Meanwhile the digging rate is noticeably boosted.

This is an incredible demo/proof of concept. I will probably wait until the final version is released to play more, but it's gonna be a tough wait because this is such a cool and fun concept.

I want to point out btw that I'm unable to Leave in Rover at Talos, saying it doesn't have power, so I'm unable to progress. :( It's been quite a few loops, at least 5 or 6, not sure what's wrong?

developer response: That's been happening occasionally, but I can't figure out what causes it. Did you do anything 'unusual' that loop, or immediately before you looped? E.g. refreshing the page, reopening the browser, exporting/importing? You can either DM me on here or join the discord to reply. Also, doing a Loop Now usually fixes the issue so you can continue playing.

I note that performing the "Install Water Recycler" function actually disables the rover's water recycler. It looks like the condition on that one is backwards, giving you free water before you could've gotten any, and then destroying that functionality if you do the work to unlock it properly!

As a sidenote, it'd be nice if you could choose in which order to use inventory supplies; with a working recycler, it'd often be more useful to drink non-small water bottles first, instead of using up water pouches that are no-longer infinite. Maybe a click-and-drag to reorder system on the inventory list, top gets consumed first?

developer response: Yep, water recycler is bugged. Plan to update in the next couple days.

Drag-drop inventory ordering is planned. Depending on things, probably either next major update or the one after.

Loved the new update! One request I have is it might be nice to have a way to manually prioritize what order food/water supplies are used, rather than just having the predetermined order. I know you initially manually coded in prioritizing renewable resources over non-renewable but it might be nicer to allow the player to optimize that. For instance, once I left Talos I would have preferred to have used protein bars over the basic food as the protein bars show up later while the basic food is no longer renewable at all past that point. I imagine situations like this will continue to crop up through development and it may be nice to allow the player that control instead.
Also I'm not sure if it's intentional or not, but does not show up blue despite being an action that persists across loops. I had initially assumed this wouldn't be the case given the lore surrounding it, so I ignored that path until exhausting all other paths. I don't know that this was a problem per se but figured I'd mention it!

I'm super looking forward to chapter 3! The lore continues to be really intriguing and cool to see! Even at this state this is already one of my favorite games on the site

developer response: Some form of manual prioritization is definitely on the list.
Those tasks are deliberately not-blue initially, because you don't know that they do persist until you start them, then come back and see that they do. As noted by someone else though, once you've seen one of them turn blue, they should really all be blue. As to making the player aware of it, I'll probably look at adding another log somewhere which nudges them to go check on it again or something.

Something i've been noticing is that sometimes the "timed actions" (for example the water recycler) speed up by multiple times, to the point that i couldn't even keep up with using up the actions and it was already at maxed. this usually happens somewhere around Laurion, with almost all of the actions there.

developer response: Mmm, someone else reported something similar. I had assumed it was something to do with saving/loading while the timers are running causing the timer to be advanced twice per tick, but if it's consistently around Laurion then must be something else...

Reloading last check point caused a glitch where I had permanent access to food synthesizer and water pouches. The start new loop button doesn't do anything.

love this game. did u take inspiration from outer wilds?

developer response: Not deliberately, although Outer Wilds is my favourite game, so some probably leaked in. I do also plan to add a permanent log in the next 1-3 major updates which will work similar to the Outer Wilds one.

Crossed the dam in 11 loops, with two early restarts. I really enjoyed this game! It's the only game I found that scratches the same itch that Idle Loops did. I found three oddities/bugs that I haven't seen mentioned yet. 1) The environmental effects of drilling the obelisk stuck around if I stopped drilling but didn't leave the room. In addition, I think that the heat layer kept drawing power even after I left the mining wing. 2) On my first trip to the dam, the rover gained +2 power per second instead of losing it. I didn't install the generator. The next trip, with memorized paths, didn't have this issue. 3) Installing the generator in the rover before leaving the first base prevented the "leave with rover" option from working. Had to restart early there.

Overall, it was a great experience. I am eager to see what else you come up with.

developer response: Glad you're enjoying it!
1) I suspect this is because the mining events stop being visible once that action is stopped, but time freezes as soon as you have no actions in your queue. So unless you progress a different action, you're frozen in the moment before the event is removed. So it is a bug, but only a minor visual one.
2) Whoops. I'll have to double check that!
3) Ohhh, that may explain an issue that lots of people have been having, but I haven't had the chance to track yet. If correct, that'll make that a LOT easier to fix.

so glad loop now exists (i managed to softlock myself, cant die cant progress unless thats intended when reaching the facility)

developer response: There are some places you can deliberately get softlocked, which is part of why the Loop Now was added.
