Getting a celestial potion gives the same bonus as getting a common one? That's quite a feel-bad, or at least a feel-boring.
It would be neat if different "shapes" of potions actually had different effects too. Even with basic stuff like cooldown reduction, multiplier, additive bonus, chance for double xp, etc, you could get a lot of extra flavor with just a tiny bit of math, and you could even constrain it so that the final formula has the same collection rate you've targeted to roughly maintain the balance.
Also doubles as "Already discovered" simulator, lol

funny how i always get legendaries from the common crate and worse from other better chests
For people that are confused about the medals, they indicate your progress with completing each set. Bronze = 4 potions, silver = 8, gold = all 12
there should be a weak passive improvement based on duplicate potions, and maybe a tiny boost at discovering undiscovered potions

Gaining a potion that you already have discovered does nothing. The medals represent the number of potions you have discovered (4 bronze -> 8 silver -> 12 gold). Potions do grant a better boost based on their rarity, but not their shape.
could the april fools part be that you get celestial potions from the common chest, and common potions from the celestial chest?

I think should have special perks due to the rarity. perks as in: every gained exp clicked, 20 % chance for random exp to half it's cool down. or sum like that idk
A much more enjoyable version of the original Check Back game due to its faster progress, however I do have to agree with some comments I've seen about the potions. Feels very unrewarding to obtain an extremely rare potion only for it to give as much XP boost as a common one. Apart from that good game!

Btw if the background is lag then use the power of turning it off (yes very simple)
I kinda wish the rarer potions had a greater multiplier effect
