Definitely trouble with autosave. Played for a bit, turned it off for an hour, got back to discover that i'm back to having just 600 hydrogen. Sooo, like hour of playing at least gone, i guess.

developer response: I have migrated user data to another provider for the save cloud.
It works now, but if any save data is lost, please let me know, but it should be pretty smooth.
This provider also has limits, so may stop working in the future, where I will have to
look at paid options. I would appreciate feedback.

the game randomly just bugs out and freezes everything on me. i become unable to load a cloud save either. it just acts as a soft lock that i have to fully restart. Honestly this game has so much potential and i love it. just wish it wouldnt just glitch out on me randomly.

At least on galaxy in particular, I imagine you could use the built-in cloud saving API? Though it might be a bit of a hassle to integrate it alongside firebase, not sure: https://galaxy.click/docs/dev/features/saving

I don't really like this one, sorry. UI is awkward and what you need to click and buy isn't 100% apparent.

developer response: sorry to hear - there is a 'CosmicoPedia' in the Settings tab which gives a bit of guidance. I will try to improve the UI going forward.

what am I missing, I got to the point of power plants, I made power plants, but seemingly randomly the unit will just turn off, I have plenty of carbon. I thought it was because I was using all my carbon but it's not 100%, it's like sometimes the power plant turns off if I fuse all my carbon, other times it doesn't. Should my power plant be turning off if I'm generating enough carbon or am I missing something? Is it a weather event that knocks the power off and I have to manually turn it back on? good game though :)

developer response: code glitches are very possible at this stage, and I am very interested to hear about reproducible cases so i can fix them, what should be happening is:

the power will go off any time the fuel for it is zero AND there is no battery. or it will trip if the consumption of power is higher than what you are producing. in either case you have to manually start it up again. If you fuse all your carbon it can fall to zero sometimes or maybe 0.2 other times due to the rounding of the numbers, explaining why it may or may not go off. It will be safer to fuse 1000 at a time or 75% stock and not all if you see where I am coming from.

I could make the game only reduce carbon to 1 and not 0 if you fuse all, but i feel that would take some challenge away of the management.

I've been at the late stage a while. I made the mistake of going to the nearest planet and got 1 AP. So now I'm trying to grind resources to get some more AP because I learned you are meant to resurrect on the new planet. Unless there is new research or something going through the grind to get the starship built doesn't feel worth it without having something to spend the AP on. So aside from that I would recommend having something you can spend that 1 AP on so players feel accomplished. Grant it, perhaps if I just reincarnated I would see something different, but my experience is that "mistake" is causing me hesitancy.

developer response: You can liquidate all your resources for AP once per run, so its very attainable to do this after conquering the system and grinding your resources for a bit before rebirth and get 20-30AP on your first run.

Thanks for playing to this point, I have to admit you are the first player I am aware of that has done this, and so the content isnt fully fleshed out beyond this point and the balancing could be off, as I am relying on feedback. Feel free to drop by in my Discord and chat about your experience, it would be worthwhile, and congratulations for reaching this point.

I am working on achievements at the moment which will also feed some AP into the mix even on the first run, as well as muliple opportunities to multiply resource collection and reduce compound cost, so more rebalancing will be needed after this is done, but hopefully more fun. Looking forward to hearing your experience.

At some early point i couldnt buy anything, couldnt sell anything just click thru the menues. Nothing worked. Reloaded the game, autosave did not work. Maybe i come back when this game gets an update because it looks interesting

For power-based games like this, you need to be able to enable and disable individual buildings, or sell them. It is possible to quasi-softlock your progress by buying a science lab, which is available pretty early, but requires a huge amount of power. The only reasonable way to work yourself out of that power deficit is to get an advanced power generator, which requires diesel, which requires power to create. If your breaker is tripped by the science lab, though, you can't get your advanced generator online.

developer response: I implemented this very thing for autobuyers some days ago, and the science Lab is upcoming I promise!

EDIT: Science Building On/Off Toggles now implemented!

There is a button to activate all power plants of different types simultaneously, which is for when you have situations where any one type would not be enough for the power draw and to avoid tripping, you can enable all of them together,

still enjoying this, i like the potential and i appreciate your quick feedback. can you add a toggle to turn the power consuming research buildings off as well (or a screen to sell or delete your purchases to clear out the lower tier buildings)

A lot of the advanced generators don't seem that advanced, and don't seem like a good deal. For example, the advanced silicon extractor costs 3kw/s of energy and you generate 17 silicon/s.
The silicon Refinery costs 7x that much energy but only generates 87 silicon per second. If I bought 7 of the 3kw/s generators I'd spend the same energy but I'd get 119 silicon/s.
So basically I'm spending 7x energy for only about 5x more silicon generation. Why would I ever do that?

I for the life of me cant figure out how to get other elements. Ive unlocked fusion researches but see no new ones.

developer response: if you have helium fusion, go back to resources and possibly click Hydrogen again, and a Fuse button will show up that will activate the next element. I will fix this refresh bug soon so that you dont need to reclick on Hydrogen on the left side. Edit - now fixed that issue.

I have added a function to export and import a file with the string in it. This is an attempt to smooth out the problems with AutoSave that are related to Firebase max writes per day, and cannot be changed unless I upgrade the plan, which costs money and wont be viable unless I am charging something for the game. I am interested to hear of anyone that knows other suitable places I could use as a cloud saving environment that dont have such limitations, but in the meantime I have taken these steps:

- turn off autosave by default so less players will be hitting it at once
- changed the default autosave time to 5 mins to cause less writes
- added a export and import file button functionality to download the save string in a timestamped file to the user computer
- explained all this in the actual game when the user starts playing.

I hope this helps a little.

serious balancing and quality of life issues as of 4/4/2025, but it definitely has promise. To theCosmicForger: I would suggest being able to sell building with requirements like power, automatically being able to create compounds like diesel, and some easier to use navigation (all the categories are cool, but I have to do so much clicking and collapse stuff by accident so often!).

developer response: thanks for your feedback. I have implemented a shut off for the autobuyers to not draw power any more, toggleable, a starting point to answering the feedback I have got today. Thanks again. There is already an autoseller for resources and compounds unlockable later, maybe I will implement the same for create compounds if i get more requests for it.

The game hasn't saved for me at all. I've been using the export feature to progress, and sometimes the resources bug out and I need to export and import to fix.

developer response: its the issue mentioned in other comments regarding max writes to the cloud database in firebase. its the first day the game was put on the site and it has got high traffic. this will stabilise in the next 24hrs or so, and the autosave will work as normal,. but yes the export feature is the workaround. apologies for that.
