comments for An Ordinary Vanilla JS Idle Game
sort: go backThis is really interesting! I'm really looking forward to see where this goes. One thing I would suggest is some more instruction in the game, saying things like if the de noido number matches your points, you lose; or that the amount of points you have on loss results in gaining rage which can be used for meta-progression. Awesome game!
Game needs a mute button
my bonused from X-iry went away when i reloaded the game
developer response: not THAT cycle again 😭 (will fix it next update)
The game for some reason is looping back around and stopping the noise and the points whenever I buy the first upgrade? I cant play because of that, unless im missing something...
most average pizza tower fan content
Absolutely infuriating that practically every time I try to buy the second upgrade, that run will delete itself, I get no rewards and have to do it all again. It wouldn't be so bad if it didn't happen every time I'm able to afford it.
developer response: Make sure that you have more points left than De Noido's points after buying it
goofy
Guide:
When starting, you have 10s until the noise, so you can generate Points, we’ll call them P, in which before you should try to buy upgrade #1 before the noise.
When noise begins, a number, that we’ll call N, exponentially increases. You cannot let P<N or you lose and you gain rage. Despair is produced by Rage. After buying Rage #3, it becomes easy to buy upgrade #2 because before it wouldn’t work. After 10 Rage, you unlock Despair Buyables, and X-iry’s Annoyance.
Despair buyables increase rage gain for despair, and X’iry’s Annoyance gives a boost costing Rage&Despair. +4 points after everything and +x0.1 r&d gain. After buying, you gain a tree point, and also keep the domain tab! But, tree is a WIP so sadly cannot be bought… just not now…
developer response: Correction: Despair is produced based on your best survival time
Thats quite ordinary
the second annoyance upgrade doesn't work, even if you have the required amounts of rage and despair.
this devastating truth has increased my IRL levels of rage and despair
(interesting game start tho)
don't rush to get the upgrades, that puts your points below the noise and destroys reset gains
really fun other than the fact i lost like 3 runs at the start because i didn't know what de noidio did (lowkey thought it was a keepaway/platformer for those runs :P)
Buying an upgrade resets me sometimes and I can't figure out why
I was only able to do 1 rage. But the points don't boost enough for me to do anything further. Furthermore it seems like despite supposedly being boosted by despair, I lose faster. The first run I was able to buy the first upgrade and could last a few seconds before losing. But, now I lose like .5 seconds after reaching 11 points and only if I'm lucky do i have enough time to buy upgrade 1, not that it helps anymore given that you lose in .5 seconds after that. Yet somehow in the first run I got 17. As it stands, unless I'm missing some secret mechanic to the game, it is impossible to progress.
This is a really cool concept! Like another commenter, I also lost my X-iry annoyance level, but unless more stuff opens up, I think I may have reached the end of the content so far--so I am looking forward to an update with more content and a fix for whatever that bug is. My one big suggestion is that it would be good to consolidate some of the different tabs, or add hotkeys. It would be nice to start the de Noido without navigating away from other screens. Tabbing around to start that, buy upgrades, and then buy the meta upgrades slows everything down and makes it harder to get into a nice groove with the gameplay. I like the core mechanic a lot though and am excited to see more.
this is honestly such a great game
peaker
Edit: there is a rage buyable
while it is definitely a game, and is a new concept (at least for me), the sound.... please add a mute button in game x.x (I know I can always mute in other ways, but still x.x)
