sort: go backThought I was crazy till I tested it. Using same import file found that increase max amount of cells nerfs your income. Going for same total it took 3 more seconds with 1 level in max cells than without it.
developer response: unfortunately a side effect of this kind of currency gain. maybe someone else will improve on it in their own project! it becomes bearable a little later on i promise.
cell generations are crippling to economy. It takes about 16 generations for 20% mitosis to be profitable, about 9 generations for 30% to be profitable. Not really sure when it becomes worth it to start buying mitosis and generations because of the cost scaling. Probably once 100k cells can be generated in a reasonable amount of time
holy moly
thats one big fox
humans have around 10^13 cells while my fox has 10^18
city sized fox
you should get points on every generation, not just the last generation, because right now, it takes a lot of upgrading to make buying the generations upgrade actually give you more points/s
Solid game. No real timewalls and the mechanics are easy enough to figure out. Hopefully soon enough will be available (unless i'm missing something).
developer response: yes, as of responding to this comment, excision is not yet implemented
Was a fun play, but i have to concur with the other reviewers - the max generation upgrade is a trap, that takes some time to recover from. I think it might best be introduced a while later.
yeah the cell gen upgrade should not under any circumstance be available that early. genuinely such a massive nerf to progression that I had to restart my savefile just to get rid of it
Great game! Could you add the cell income right below the cell counter in the next update? It's always satisfying to see how your production increases after each upgrade, thanks in advance.
my increase starting cells upgrade got NaN upgrades somehow? im now stuck.
my cells and exocells are NaN. 1 level off from being able to apoptosis and reset all the NaN
So, is "doing a hard reset once you realize what that one 'upgrade' did to your income" an intended part of game progression, or...?
really cool game! I like how it expands and each layer kinda contributes and kinda adds something new. I hope to see it updated further and expanded into a potential new great!
hardcap seems annoying, why adding a hardcap just to have an upgrade that x2 hardcap with x2 scaling? Just a normal /2 to production would be enough.
Buying max generations actually reduce income, instead of increasing it. I think a simple way to solve this problem is to simply multiply the final output by the max level, or let the player gain cells every time the bar fills instead of every time it reaches max generation.
can you fix the issue with my cells displaying as nan? i have to reload the page when that happens and my cells drop to 0
You could solve the issue with cell generations if you had them pay out every generation instead of at the end. That way the first time you buy it, it wouldn't be a huge nerf, it would be a very very minor buff.
I actually hard reset once I figured out how the max cell generation worked.
A simple fix would be to push back those two upgrades (max cell generation and mitosis chance) until level 5.
Also please make it easier to see which genome upgrades are available, I missed one of them because I thought it was already unlocked.
Maybe I don't understand the mitosis mechanic correctly but until I had 100% chance it seemed like I was getting quite a bit fewer cells than I should have gotten after X generations. Maybe I just calculated it wrong but it was pretty far off from the average that I should have gotten. Really enjoying the game so far though!
Why no automation for the hold click speedup?
the button is on a higher layer than the tabs, causing it to appear over them when scrolling down
Beginner tip: Don't buy the max cell generation until you can get at least a 40% mitosis chance, otherwise your cell gain will actually get nerfed
