comments for Game About Botting in an MMORPG
sort: go backdeveloper response: And the Guards are now in the game :)
developer response: Nice idea, I could use some money :)
And the only boss right now seems too powerful for the equipment that drops in his zone. I wasn't sure whether I was supposed to or , so what I did was .
The respec cost feels a bit high for me to start trying a different build, maybe you should give some free ones. Same applies to the shop refresh cost which doesn't have a clear benefit, these are just buttons which I won't press while I'm still saving gold towards automation.
In the end my gameplay is still more active than idle, which does prove the point that you could just skip the whole "buying bots" part and the game would still work.
developer response: Regen + attack speed is a valid build.
The boss is supposed to be killed before cultists, it just requires some kiting and potions.
There's nothing wrong in playing the game full active.
Thanks for playing and for feedback :)
developer response: Currently cultists are the last hunting ground. I'm working on making the hunting grounds info more obvious
developer response: Inventory opens with i, it works fine.
developer response: Desktop version doesn't reset. There is an open steam playtest if you don't want to download from itch
developer response: You mean follow the player? That's by design, you can't dodge a projectile by moving.

Base health and mana regen are pretty strong early. Investing a few points into them allows you to tank and have quick kills on the early zones. Once you're rich enough to perma chug pots, then max health and regen become more preferable. The boss orc was a nice experience and it'd be interesting to see what crazy patterns future bosses might have. On the note of balance though, I couldn't find much use out of enrage with its high mana cost. I often killed enemies too quickly for the attack speed to matter and it was better to kite for ability cooldowns when facing tougher foes. I could see it being a cheap way to idle without using pots, though it still seems a bit weak to me.
I think it should be made a little bit more clear you'll unlock new zones at level 10 and level 20 (there is none at lvl 30). You'll have to do a little more grinding on bats and orcs to reach them and players may think the game is done after seeing nothing to do. On that note, I think the town underground entrance shouldn't be highlighted on hover until level 20 is reached. As of now, it looks like an odd object that could be clickable.
developer response: Hello, thanks for feedback and for playing! (sounds like you 100% it, love to see it :))
Seems like you had very similar ideas to me :D. Mining + forging is coming - you will gather ores and use them to enhance gear - maybe classic "Iron Sword +1/2/3" or increase their rarity, idk yet.
The plan is to have 3 base classes - Warrior / Mage / Hunter that will ascend into next classes as prestige mechanism. The grand idea is that eventually you will run multiple instances of the game with various characters to essentially create a bot farm, but not sure if that will work out.
You might be right with the unlocking of new zones, need to think about how to make it more obvious that those will unlock after x level. Maybe highlight them with blue and do a popup after click it that it will unlock.
