comments for The Tree of Life
sort: go backyo its on galaxy now nice
to the two previous commenters: you can reset your token upgrades and get your tokens back without losing any progress. you don't have to experiment with anything, just cycle buying max of the upgrades for one resource at a time
This game's very impressive in terms of content and additional features, but some of its can be repetitive/uninteresting and some bits may be annoying. You can read my full review at https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/reviews.php?target_group=VideoGame&target_title=TheTreeOfLife
im about 6 hours in, and out of the extreme built in saves, im as far as file 6. there are 64 saves.
I was fully on board until the tokens. made it to token four but I'm tired of randomly trying solutions to maximize points for the next token. I can't seem to figure out what the best combination is even after trying dozens of combinations. This is exactly the type of mechanic I don't like in idle games
Is it just me or there is this extremely long timewall ar 5e105 lives
Upgrades aren't working on my iphone 14 for some reason.
I LIKE IT!!!!!
How do I get spelling to work?
According to my notes, theres some timewalls at 7e53, 6e84, 1e87, 5e105 and 4e311 lives. (might be inaccurate)
I'm currently 3/3/2 on species challenges and have 1e58 species, yet I can't complete any more challenges. Is there something I'm missing?
it's quite slow but that's ok

I'm stuck at the same place.
Reading the discord, it seems there's a bug in that area that hasn't been fixed for a long time.

Am I missing something, or do the species challenges have some very long timewalls between them?
Why is there such a giant timewall at unlocking the first minigame and unlocking the second? I've probably grinded for a few days and I'm still only at e80 a points.
I'm sure this game gets really good at some point but it feels like a constant back and forth of experimenting with wayyyyyy too many configurations to make progress. Again, good and even fun for some people, less so for me.
Edit: You'll only stuck at those
Extreme, extreme ez hard: 15 Token II, 80 and 243 Chromosomes
Extreme ez: 80 and 243 Chromosomes
Extreme hard: all walls in extreme, 2 Carbon upgs(only if you chose C first), 15 Tokens, Cell minigames before stem cells
The others: e57, e302, and e369 Species
And @BELGUA, you should try getting "Exponential"->"Double-Exponential"->"Semi-Exponential"->"UltraViolet"->"Near-UltraViolet"->"Constant". This also applies to 2~13 Tokens.

Guess I'm not being active enough ... Customisable challenges are going slow, slow, slowly lol

For a more technical explanation, the mechanisms that browser games use to run code repeatedly are "rate limited" (ie ticking less often) when the tab is out of focus to try and save computer resources. Therefore, ticks happen less often, and number go up slower :(
> Couldn't you factor in the time without ticks to make the numbers bigger?
Yes, and TMT already does that. I think the issue in this case may be autobuyers, but I am not certain.
> Couldn't you make the autobuyers just run multiple times?
That would make the game even laggier, and I think it would be fairly difficult to implement. I'm not well-versed with the ToL code though, so I may be wrong.
