So, we have finally arrived. At a point where most things should be set right.
The finale cut scene for the Halloween event is now in the game! In case you have returned all 30 ghosts already (very impressive if so) you can still view it by entering the clock one last time.
The ghosts have become a bit more talkative! Now, I can't guarantee that their newfound extroversion will be as useful as you may have hoped for (keep in mind they are confused), but I am sure it will be helpful. If only a bit.
Another thing that has been changed, is, that all the ghosts now spawn at once instead of spread out over time. So now, even if you are late to the party, you still have a shot at fulfilling this task that should have never been asked of you.
Other changes:
- Added remove/add all Cheerleaders when holding shift.
- Fixed Stage B pierce chance not working correctly.
- Hopefully (please please) fixed Stage D sometimes not appearing when starting the game.
- Fixed some display issues with rounding.
I suspect there will be another bug fix update, but if not, this is the last one for Pixelgrab. Over 5 years ago I made this little game, without much thought for anything. Looking back, this was quite a journey. I remade it at least twice from the ground up, each time with newfound eyes taking into account all the things I have learned until then. Adding things here and there. It was lot of fun and I never expected that so many people would be interested in this little game. So thank you all for that! You playing my games is something I think about quite often :)
Maybe some day there will be more of Pixelgrab, but it will have to be its own game. I have some ideas for a sequel, but it will have to wait for now. The next time we'll see each other will be somewhere both far away and quite close to Pixelgrab. The writing has been on the wall for a long, long time after all.

The Work of a Horologist 1.7.2 October 21, 2025
So, we (and by we I mean I) are slowly but surely cleaning up all the bugs (and by bugs I mean things I should have thought of but didn't) that are popping up (and by popping up I mean that they were there all along)
Interesting changes:
- There is a low-strobe option now, for everyone who is not as much into extremely bright colors as I am (I get it).
- The Clock now works as it was always designed to do.
- Cleaned up how clock blessings are moved/swapped.
- Fixed Stage E progressing faster when closed. It now uses a more smarter way to calculate its progress.
- Fixed Poxel Autobuy not working.
- Fixed the Skillmine turning idle hits negative. It is now a % based bonus.
- Changed Stage B pierce to all layers instead of treating each one as new.

The graveyard conclusion is not included in here, that will take me at least another update. Also, the ghosts seemed to warm up a bit, and agreed to tell more of their stories. I'll see if can write it all down, they have a lot to say.

Pixelgrab 1.7.1 - Talking to ghosts 1.7.1 October 20, 2025
Turns out, the ghosts were a bit shy. I talked to them (each one) and told them that they have nothing to fear. So now they reveal themselves a bit more readily than before, which is great. They have so much to tell.
Other stuff that has been done in 1.7.1:
- Poxel Upgrade Discount is now shown correctly.
- Added retroactive gold from finishing each Stage increment of 25, with one extra gold each as a thank you <3
- Fixed arrow Stage movement sometimes behaving strangely.
- Fixed the reset banner being a bit wonky when moving between Pixel/Poxel screens.
- Fixed Stages being accessible before unlocking them.
- Fixed S & D movement being swapped in the graveyard.
- Resized the limit break explanation to fit all text.
- Changed the entrance to the clock to a clock (makes much more sense this way).
- Fixed Stage D sometimes not spawning after returning to the game.
- Fixed the timer in Poxel upgrades not moving during resets.
- Fixed some Gold upgrades not displaying correctly.
- Removed some things left over from testing.
- Fixed Stage A Level 1 reward saying "Skillmine" instead of "Stages"
- Fixed all blocks sometimes appearing to die when another stage is finished/reset.
- Fixed something with the ghosts.
- Added some mist to the graveyard, for more spoooky vibes.
- Fixed Skillmine offline progress not working (big brain bug).
- Hopefully fixed the Skillmine not finishing correctly (at this point I am just trying things. I am losing my mind in regards to this bug).
- Fixed Stage C sometimes being very stubborn and not spawning blocks.
- Fixed some bugs in regards to the clock and its effects.
There will be at least one more update for the clock/graveyard event, adding its conclusion. If you manage to complete it beforehand, don't worry you will not miss out, you'll get the opportunity to view it. Though I doubt that will happen :>

Uuuuuh, it is halloween. And now in Pixelgrab as well.
The Major Additions!
A strange clock has arrived in Pixelgrab!
Something terrible has happened and now the lost souls plucked from their resting places need help returning to their homes. Bring them back to their graves and get special effects lasting until november 3rd!
2 new gold upgrades & something else that wants your gold.
Additionally to that, each 25th Stage now gives 5 Gold as well.
Added limit break, for when your idle hits go above and beyond.
After reaching 20+ Idle hits per second, all that exceed this limit are collected, and after a certain threshold, finish a layer in one hit.
And a huge amount of Buqfixes, performance improvements as well as QoL features.
The following bugs have been addressed/QoL additions added:
- Changed the 0 to be more different from the 8.
- Added a "return to game" button to some scenes.
- Added Stage movement buttons to the Poxel Upgrade screen.
- Changed Scaling to always fill the biggest screen area.
- Changed Stage E to have half the amount of blocks but double the spawn rate for better performance.
- Stage D now doesn't progress extremely fast in certain cases.
- Stage B shows correct active dmg value.
- Added hold to buy.
- Each stage displays current level + reward for completion.
- Added highlight effect to certain rewards.
- Locked Features are now visible, with their requirements.
- Stage C Poxel Slowdown upgrade displays correctly now.
- Stage E now spawns blocks in a nicer way.
- Reset & stage completion display/messages added.
- Added offline Gold Pixel gains.
- Made Skillmine empty highlight nicer.
- Added some text to 10k Field.
- Fixed upgrade cost turning negative, new is multiplicative instead of additive.
- Changed export to be encrypted.
- Hard Reset now needs additional confirmations.
- Stage C spawns blocks instantly if no blocks are present.
- Fixed Stage D Blockquake not working.
- Added Instakill cooldown.
- Fixed Stage D giving double rewards.
- Fixed Skillmine workers disappearing.
- Added arrow movement to stages.
- Fixed the game not running during certain special scenes.
- Crit above 100% is now recursive, doubling damage each time. Counts for Limit Break as well.
- Fixed Stage B sometimes having it's second Block be the wrong color.
- Made Chain hit performance much much better.
- Fixed Chain hits not working in Stage C/D/E.
- Added visuals to Cheerleaders.
- Cheer Spots now change color according to stage progress.
- Added a Hard Reset animation.
- Fixet Stage E hits not displaying correctly.
- Added Gold upgrade highlights.
- Added different backgrounds for Prestige/Post-Prestige.
- Displays idle hits per second in Pixel & Poxel screen.
- Autobuy now picks from all buyable upgrades, instead of buying the cheapest.
