The Margot Collapse is an incremental mystery game

latest update

The Margot Collapse June 15, 2026

Major announcement: We're reworking the Reacticore prototype into a real game! Reacticore was so satisfying to both create and play, that we decided to take it even further. We've completely revamped the prototype into a new shiny demo, straight from TOPTECH Industries.

Meet The Margot Collapse.
The Margot Collapse is an incremental game wrapped inside an unsettling mystery. Part workplace simulator, part optimization game, and part surreal short story, it blends methodical progression with a growing sense that something behind the walls of TOPTECH Industries is deeply, profoundly wrong.

We will keep developing the game, and just like your initial feedback was instrumental in shaping Reacticore into the Margot Collapse, we hope you'll continue sharing your ideas and feedback in the comments.

If you love the game and want to see what happens at TOPTECH, consider wishlisting it on Steam, and you'll get notified when we launch later this year.

Love the game! Camera movement is a bit wack and flies all over the place randomly, prbly a high mouse polling rate issue or something. But very fun! One of the few demos on here im genuinly excited to try out as a full game

I just keep getting "There was an error with your request" from trying to play the game. Itch seems to return a 500 error so no clue what is the problem.

developer response: Yeah itch is down :/

I chuckled at the DataMate's positioning.

How do you leave the shop? I can't find the exit button anywhere

developer response: Try Escape or Q - we'll add a back button.

Would love an options page with the ability to mute and disable the CRT effect.

This game does not have the demo tag because the developer is unsure if it will be turned into a paid game or not (per an itch.io comment). If the game is confirmed as getting a paid release, feel free to report the it and a site staff member will add the tag

A Demo should be marked as such. I expected to continue playing but instead the game was over just as it was getting fun. Very fun game, just mark it as a demo so people can expect it

pretty good prototype, was really fun to complete. only a few moments where it was annoying despite my gripes. I really enjoyed it

Quite good, unique spin on a node-like. However, as mentioned by another user, it's sort of misleading that this isn't marked as a demo.
