A little bug fix patch! 0.5.8 January 7, 2026
Farmhand
- Fixed an issue where prior to the first rebirth, if you hit level 11 without buying any perks, you can't buy the Destiny perk because the first perk in the tree is locked. The perk now stays unlocked
Squire
- Buying a new shop item while playing the Squire no longer resets the health of your current enemy to full
- The enemy stat tooltip for enemies of the "Training" type now correctly shows 20% Damage Reduction instead of 25%
- Using an autoclicker on the Next Enemy button should no longer sometimes cause the game to go out of bounds (if anyone is able to reproduce this again please let me know!)
Researcher
- Compounding XP bonus no longer appears in Total XP Per Second if you don't have the perk unlocked for compounding
Other Changes
- Fixed a ton of shop item wording inconsistencies so they should all read with a much more consistent format (Example: +1 to a Stat instead of Stat +1)
- Capped the frame rate at 60 FPS and turned on Adaptive V-Sync - If you have a high end system and were getting fan revving / high GPU usage etc., please let me know if you still get this after this patch
Beta development (and new class development) continues but since there was a small handful of known issues I figured I'd fix them. :)

developer response: Heya, thanks for the constructive feedback! I'll comment on your feedback below:
- I'm not sure how far you played into HFI, but I do think the game could use more "exciting things" to check when coming back from AFK. The Farmhand and Squire are quite passive in nature (and rely a little more on the rebirth system to push forward), where the researcher requires a bit more activity to manage your published books and things before going back AFK again. The new class I am developing is a bit more active in terms of gameplay, so that should help with having a reason to check back.
- The pacing could be better, I agree. Sometimes the game hits slow points, for sure. I'll make sure I ask my community for further feedback on this to address the worst areas where pacing is an issue. As more and more "systems" come online in the game as well, that should hopefully help with pacing too.
I'll continue to tweak the game and make sure things stay exciting! Thanks again.

developer response: I'm assuming you're referring to Lore - you'll need to purchase the Wheelbarrow item on the Farmhand. :)
developer response: Yes it is a bit slow to finish off the researcher currently, I agree. Appreciate the feedback and glad you enjoyed the game!
developer response: No perk for that just yet but there is an upgrade later that improves attack speed. Attack speed is something that will continue to improve in the beta.

developer response: You need to rebirth to gain the largest amount of progression. Rebirthing will let you also play other classes which give you different permanent buffs. The Rebirth tab is with the Class and Stats tabs. Rebirthing often is the best way to play HFI!
