A few more demo improvements! 0.5.6 November 2, 2025
Farmhand
- Added two new stats to the stats tab: XP Per Farm Action and Gold Per Farm Action
- Changed all references to XP/Gold Per Click to XP/Gold Per Farm Action to be more accurate
- XP and Gold Per Click stats now factor in Farm Actions Per Click
- Autofarm speed is now counted in Total XP and Gold Per Second stats on the Class tab
Squire
- Web AFK Rewards now rewards squire enemy drops based on your rare drop chance (This is to make AFKing the browser more equivalent to the Windows version)
- If you have Class Swap unlocked and rebirth on the Researcher improving your Wisdom, the XP of the enemy you are fighting will automatically update (you used to need to cycle to a different enemy to see the change)
Researcher
- Researcher pages are now visible on both the Research and Publish tabs
- Pages are not longer rarely lost when pages are gained while submitting pages at the same time
Other Changes
- Perk trees for all three classes now have arrows showing what direction the perk progression is going
- Added version number to the Settings window
- Rebirth Stats on the Stats tabs are now in class order (Hardiness, Might, Wisdom)

Enjoy the theme, UI and general gameplay loop, I only have 1 main issue/potential misunderstanding on my part, is there no way to gather rare drops with the tab being in the background?
developer response: Glad you're enjoying it!
No misunderstanding on your part - item drops for Squire don't happen while offline, which in turn for browser players, means they don't happen via Web AFK rewards (They are the same system). Item drops aren't currently tuned for offline in mind. That being said, I'll look into turning that on just for Web AFK rewards since that would make getting items a bit tedious if you are playing HFI in the browser. :)
Update - this is now implemented which means you can get item drops while AFK! (But not offline).
Love the game so far, one thing that bugs me though is trying to be efficient with researcher. I don't want to start a new edition before I have enough pages to complete it to avoid missing out on the gold, but to do that I need to keep track of how many pages it took to complete and then keep in mind the extra 10%. I understand the trade off of losing the gold while writing a new edition but maybe add something that tells you how many pages the next edition will take before starting it, either as a permanant skill or just baseline.
developer response: Funny that you mention this - I just added this information to the start new edition button tooltip. It'll now tell you the total number of pages needed for the next edition. (It's in the patch notes) :)
I would like to propose a small change of convenience, for more consistent automation:
Squire: Automation:
Once you acquire the Autoskill: Spin Slash, everything is as it should be: automatically uses the skill Spin Slash once it is available, in other words the code checks every tick if the skill is available and activates it, correct? Well, it is not as fitting once the player gets Autoskill: Brace for Impact, the tactic no longer fits as well.
My idea is, on obtaining the second Autoskill, to offset the Autoskill: Spin Slash to always have enough stamina for Brace for Impact, creating the most optimal automation.
Otherwise, the whole game is amazing and I had and am having a wonderful time playing this game.
developer response: Sounds like a great idea for a future upgrade. :D
went away for a few hours and came back to my save having been wiped :(
@corgis thank you for helping understand now

Interesting start, looking forward to more. Minor suggestion but I would like to see shop items highlighted when you can afford them. Maybe dim the Buy button if you don't have enough gold.
developer response: Ooh I like this idea - I'll put it in my notes. (This was implemented btw)
When the game first loads, the scaling is wrong. Click "expand" at the bottom left, then "shrink." If you can't click the "nice" button, click the game to make sure it's in focus and then hit "enter."
i am high and i like fantasy
So.. I played bit enough to say something I think; perma upgrades motivates to try again, no restriction for rebirth is accessible, job and item(books, for now) unlocks for each class's progress is interesting. got hooked.
developer response: Thank you! Glad you had fun.
how to unlockResearcher?
developer response: I'd take a look at Squire item drops... :)
