🌊 The GOAT Surfer - An Incremental Surfing Simulator [Early Access/Feedback Wanted]

Hey fellow incremental gamers! I'm excited to share my first game: The GOAT Surfer - where you'll start as absolute surfer noob and progress to become the Greatest of All Times.
I wanted to make an incremental game slightly influenced by titles like Progress knight or Magic research, but to stay in real life, maybe to add just a bit of supernatural skills :)

Features which I think make it unique:

  • Catch waves, master new skills and become the Greatest Surfer Of All Times
  • unlock new locations and quests and upgrades
  • learn new jobs and career paths, earn money and respect,
  • surfing simulation in increasingly more difficult locations around the world

🎯 Stoke Catching Improvements

  • stoke meter position changed to top right. It's also now closable. Surf screen has now a checkbox for turning stoke catching on and off for all surf sessions.

⚖️ Balancing

  • slightly re-balanced stoke bubbles - +0.1 seconds for 4stoke bubble, -0.2s for 2stoke
  • equipment - added hourly fees and higher initial costs for coaching, added sorting - highest subscriptions are now on top
  • Skill level multiplier for all skills nerfed - it was growing exponentially too fast with surf level
  • jobs have longer hourly requirement and some have lower pay

🐛 Bugfixes

  • when you travel to new spot/location, your surf/work activity is now stopped
  • re-added accidentally removed surf automation
  • tabs formatting re-centered
  • surf screen: removed small on:hover popups and added all explanations to the main Surf screen tooltip.
  • fixed edge cases on Welcome back offline stoke calculations.
  • reworded sponsorships - they are not passive incomes, you still need to show up and do some work for sponsors :)

The amount of respect for the sidequests seems extremely high compared to everything else, did respect change but sidequests stay the same?

developer response: There was some rebalancing of requirements for quests, but also Stoke was added. When you catch stoke during your surf session, it boosts crits and therefore respect :)

Tried this a few months ago and it was too slow, now it felt really good. Great game, and I felt like paying 2.5€ for it was worth it. Rating a paid game is a bit hard though, this is a 5/5 for me as a free game, but as a paid maybe not? Click.galaxy needs to somehow separate the ratings of paid and free games.

Very very clean UI. However, I feel that placement can use some work. For example, equipable items are weirdly placed, since people would want to turn them on and off depending on if they are surfing or working. Things that have no cost should be perma-on regardless since there's no downside, but things that drain money to use should be put in a more accessible place on the main screen. Speaking of, we need more information also to know what the differences between different types of surfing can provide. I have no idea which to do to grind which stat at the moment. Finally, it feels a bit weird that houses drain your money even when you're not USING it. Maybe that can be changed?

Otherwise, it's a pretty clean, interesting idle game.

developer response: Sorry to hear that. The game URL changed so maybe you can find your save on old url: https://goat-surfer.netlify.app/. There you can continue, or export and import it in to the new location.

Am I the only one who would like energy to recover a bit faster in the beginning? Other than that, this is amazing for a first game.

Please make the energy gen faster or at least try to add offline energy regen or make it still be active when I'm not on this tab

Did this game just update and place a cap on energy? Which is the opposite of what people were commenting on?
And apparently it doesn't automatically continue the last action after energy's been filled up again. Maybe that's an upgrade? If it's missing entirely that's kinda questionable. Why have it automatically rest but not continue what it was doing?

developer response: There was a bug in the first version 0.1 where the cap was not respected under some conditions. That was fixed in 0.1.1.
Automations for work/surf and other things will be added as unlockables as you progress the game.
