I played this for a bit in oversight, cool game, has potential, it's just that it needs some balancing. I agree that the loan system is a "cheap" softlocker kind of situation, there are probably better fixes to this, and prestige does make stuff go up quite fast. I hope we get to see more stuff and good luck with the game jam

@catgirl and xFoxi3x, the upgrades to starting bank amounts make it so that once you start earning interest, you can earn more before the banks are destroyed by balls. With my current upgrades the balls do 5 damage each time so a level 0 piggy bank only takes 2 hits and earns barely any interest, but a level 5 takes 7 hits and will last a lot longer, earning much more in interest. A level 10 piggy bank is almost unkillable (until I upgrade ball damage) because by the time a ball hits it it has earned another 6 coins of interest on average, and the value in the bank keeps growing.

in theory it could be fun, but i just really hate how slow progression is. the loan system also feels very out of place for such a game. i feel like the loan system is there just to make sure you dont end up with 0 coins which to me atleast it feels very uninspiring and boring to fix a problem like that with a loan system of sorts

it's a fun concept, but progression rapidly slows down. i don't much like the fact that you don't actually earn more money, just a higher quantity of it. be it 5 piggy banks for 5 coins each, or one for 25 coins, your profit is 25 coins in both cases.

i did the math, and upgrading local banks does literally nothing. no matter how many times you upgrade it, youre gonna get 0.4 bills per coin
i can tell that theres a good game underneath this, but its buried under unbalanced numbers that make the game reallly unfun.
i'm gonna assume this is your first game, and if that's the case, you've done a great job. all you need to make this game infinitely better is to simply tweak the numbers.

It's a fun concept, i believe the execution could be improved though. it was a little confusing -and that's probably just a me thing- to find what I was supposed to do. A tutorial would be greatly appreciated, and tweaking the numbers too.
Oh and one more little thing, I find it difficult to see if an upgrade is purchasable or not. A high contrast mode or just changing it to a different colour (rather than shade) would help tons.
Great work, I see this becoming bigger (:
