description

WARNING: This game can contain flashing imagery!

You've snuck into your rival's underground headquarters to stop the production of his goods, but oops! You activated a nuclear bomb and have 2 minutes to escape!

Welcome to Out With a Bang, where you must discover your way through the game's mechanics and try to generate as much energy as possible. This game was originally inspired by the Countdown Ending of The Stanley Parable.

This game was made for the Void Development Jam 2.0 in July 2022. It will not be receiving new updates.

Things you might like

  • In this game, there is no tutorial. Several mechanics in this game are a bit unintuitive. You must discover how to use them on your own!
  • This game is relatively short and self-contained, so it will be mostly active from start to finish!
  • The next major goal will always be clear, so don't worry about getting stuck not knowing what to do!

Things you might not like

  • It is actually possible to beat the game without using the Enter trick. However, it is highly recommended to play this game on PC for a smoother experience.
  • This game requires some strategy in certain sections.
  • You have to move your mouse fast at times to make progress, as this game revolves around a timer mechanic.

Is it supposed to change which button does what like that? it's a little annoying, so just wondering if it is on purpose.

developer response: Yes, that's on purpose so you have to figure it out again. However, after 9+ escapes, the buttons do stay the same

couldn't the colors also be pressed with numbers or letters on the keyboard? I just managed to get the 5th color and the time lost on simply moving the mouse around is starting to really bug me

developer response: ok I know I said no updates but I may consider pushing a simple fix to add button hotkeys, since it takes practically no effort. The mouse moving problems will slowly go away after 9+ escapes (edit: update pushed)

The color theme is really bad. A lot of bright and saturated colors, especially red, doesn't look good.

developer response: yeah I wasn't good at making games look pretty back then

If you don't want people using auto clickers or clicking and pressing enter, maybe don't use a mechanic balanced around how fast a human can click and have click and hold click at a standard rate or something?

developer response: I tried implementing a hold click mechanic a while ago but I never got it to work. This is a game jam game from 2022 and will not be updated, as mentioned in the description. The spam-clicking goes away eventually, so it's not too much of a concern (especially since you can use enter trick to spam click without having to spam), also I have now added hotkeys for pushing buttons
