Don't panic! The system is crashing, but your Nanobits may survive the reboot.
Use the sidebar to buy upgrades. Change the difficulty anytime in the settings.
Let's go from 1 bit to Octal Prism?
I created this prototype for the New Year's Incremental Game Jam 2026, inspired by the theme "Inception", and updated the demo for the Patch Notes Game Jam with the theme "Out of Time".
It’s a journey through the "beginnings" of coding—starting with binary and moving through symbols, colors, and octal. The UI isn't quite finished yet (especially for mobile), and there might be a few localization bugs.
I’m definitely willing to keep working on this if people enjoy the concept. Let me know what you think—feedback is always welcome!
Luminous hugs from Colatina, Brasil!
PS: if anyone wants to support me and Start From 0 to grow, there is a "symbolic" bundle, any value is welcome :)

Well, well, well... here we go again!
Start From 0 took 9th place in its first game jam, and now I’m uploading its first patch and submitting it to the Patch Notes Game Jam!
The first version of SF0 has over 2k plays and amazing comments here on itch.io—and especially on galaxy.click. :) I’m so thankful for that!

developer response: Hi! Thanks for playing and commenting! The crashes and reboots are actually part of the game’s core mechanics. You can purchase an upgrade to extend the time before the system reboots. :)
On Easy Mode, you don’t lose any nanobits upon resetting. On Medium, you lose 50%, and on Hard, you lose even more. However, there is an upgrade available to reduce the number of nanobits lost during a reboot. :)
developer response: thank you so much for your comment! i feel the game isn't much about challenge but more about contemplating and visual satisfaction and I agree with you about adding more balance and entertainment value ^.^ luminous hugs from Brasil!
